am i the only one who ever noticed themes, ideas, characters etc appearing in someway IRL after they appeared in a comic?

Aside from the obvious of many cars (Storm, Mystique, Mercury, Sunfire etc) having the same name as famous comic characters, there's things like:

Excalibur (first series written by claremont)- during their "cross time caper" storyline- they find themselves on an alternate earth where magick is paramount and England is a world super power. The queen mother (an obvious nod to queen elizabeth) is a powerfull sorceress. the princess (who looks more than a little like diana) has a son named William who falls for ShadowCat, which pisses off her crosstime alternate, Kate- another powerfull and jealous sorceress. At the end of the story, William and Kate are to be married. and NOW we see real life prince william marrying kate over in england.

any other comparisons?

I know when Grant Morrison was writing the Invisibles his character King Mob (who was obviously and unapologetically him) was shot in an issue and before too long he began to suffer from a collapsed lung  and had to be hospitalized which was really freaky to hear of.

Alan Moore once claimed that John Constantine came and spoke to him in a bar . . .the comic book character that he created, came and spoke to him in real life, in an ordinary bar.

players of the six would especially appreciate this-

there was a minor but heroic and tragic character in Uncanny X-men named Sharon Kelly. She was married to Senator Robert Kelly & died trying to help Rogue escape Master Mold.

I made a character "Sharon Kelly" in "The Six" rpg on the game and she's now the "Silver Swan" (directly inspired by DC's Silver Swan).

There's a Hampton Inn hotel near the airport here in Nashville and when I was in there a few months ago, I noticed on one of the business cards on the front desk belonging to the Director of Sales and her name is: Sharon Kelley!

I was reading Essential X-men vol 5 & in Uncanny X-men issue #189 where Phoenix III (currently Marvel Girl III) & Magma go after the Selene, the Black Queen of the Hellfire Club, in the prologue of the story, Rachel stares out over the city (New York) & the images from the memories of her own dystopian timeline overlap what she sees in "current" mainstream. she sees lower manhattan burning.

the narration points out the World Trade Center/Twin Towers being leveled to the ground by terror attacks.

This issue was published in 1985. 16 years before 9/11.
