Heart Attack
He brought the imagery of X-men during Phoenix II & Dark Phoenix's reign to life and the artwork remains classic and recognizable to this day. A little over a decade later he took the helm of Wonder Woman, picking up after George Perez & Karen Berger. He was the writer and penciler and while his art was still nice to look at...he took WW in a questionable and ultimately unpopular direction, shocking many longtime fans of him and nearly derailing WW by the end of 1997.
He's currently writing a comic called "Next Men" which some describe as a more sci-fi/streetsmart verion of the X-men. There's even a character on the team with some loose comparisions to Cyclops.
Anybody reading that book? Anybody a fan of Byrne's work these days?
