don't flatter yourself, sugar! if you knew me well enough you'd know that i NEVER shy away from an argument but lets face it...this argument was rather silly. you act like you SLEPT with Jolie or something!
as i share my FINAL THOUGHT on this let me say:
First of all, the title of the thread was not meant to spark a "who is better/better actress" debate, it was simply ripped from OK magazine and E! News. Sam hit the nail on the head when she said the ongoing "showdown" was played out.
YOU were the one who took it DOWN to a "who is better than who" level.
As someone who went to school for fashion and is reasonably well versed in fashion and pop culture i found your arguments about "why Angelina is better than Jennifer" to be rather lackluster, but still i did what i could to engage you.
I pulled out a few facts, references that were easy to find etc and still you dismissed Jennifer's box office clout (her exact take in thus far is easily found on any number of websites on line) and her status as a style icon. I NEVER said that Angelina Jolie is a bad actress. in fact I named two movies of her's that i LOVE. I prefer Jennifer because she has better fashion sense and ANYONE who knows me WELL knows that i am about fashion. Angelina Jolie may have been "sexy" at one time...but i think most people agree that she's TOO SKINNY now and that isnt sexy. Having big lips and NO BODY isnt sexy...its freakish. and I didnt say anything the MEDIA hadn't already said when highlight the FACT that she's "KNOWN MORE" for her adopting several children from as many countries and having babies than her ACTING career at this time. that isnt a SLIGHT..its just an actual observation. One film critic wrote that she needed to get BACK to acting and that's what she did with "Changeling"...it wasnt my FAVORITE film of her's to watch but it was something different and at least it was something that put her in the news for another reason than her finding another child she wanted to adopt.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion of course, but next time you want to agrue with me about something so inconsequential, come at me with something MORE than comparing a true style icon who is STILL RELEVANT to someone as irrelevant as MC Hammer or Kid n Play. Fashion critics who dress celebrities, photographers and other related sources who all say the same thing can't be wrong and again, this is what i went to school for so i THINK I know what i'm talking about. and as for "the rachel" versus "the flat top" Comparing a woman's hair style trend to a man's hairstyle trend is like comparing apples to oranges...they can go from one end of the country to another but they are still TOTALLY UNRELATED and it makes no sense to compare them. you'll never see a credible fashion magazine highlighting "the flatop" as a fashion HIGH POINT where as Farrah's "Feather" and Jennifer's "Rachel" have both cemented their place as high points in fashion and pop culture.
You like Angelina? GREAT! :nod: Enjoy her and her skinny body and giant lips. I enjoy many of her movies, but I don't think she's sexy by any stretch. I prefer Jennifer's fashion sense and your claims that her career is 2nd rate are just not bared out by the box office, critics or anyone ELSE who actually pays attention to her career and pop culture status.
you need to actually SAMPLE some of her work (and not clips from youtube or comments from other people) before you can make such a sweeping judgement. I, on the other hand, have more than sampled the work of BOTH actresses. Each one has their highlights and low points.
