House Music

[Karma]

I'm from Detroit, and we love our house music & the dj's who spin sublime mixes w/ it. Detroit, Chicago & a few other cities in the north to the northeast of the U.S. definitely get into this genre of dance music. I wanted to see if anyone here was aware of it or a fan?

[Clara Oswald]

I'm aware...and not a fan lol

[Persephone]

Yeah, i'm not really a fan either. I like dubstep more than house music.

I just heard about dubstep late last year. Of course...not knowing ALOT about it, I went to youtube to see if any Madonna songs had been given the dubstep treatment. I found a dubstep remix of "Frozen". It wasnt bad!

But my heart beats & i DANCE to house music...especially if its got a strong beat & nice jazzy loop. some of these dj's TODAY confuse house w/techno & the result in their spins is AWFUL.

[Black King]

seriously what the hell is dubstep?

[Persephone]

It's more hardcore base beats mixed with electronic. It's badass, especially when people remix songs with dubstep bases.

Here's a good example of a dubstep version of Prodigy's "Breathe". The actual song starts at 55 seconds [the beginning is just some random soft beats].

I think I've heard some of that used in movies before. But if I'm not in a club, I don't want to hear it lol

Yes...EDM is my thing, and of all the genres of electronic music, House is my favorite along with some of its sub-genres like Progressive House, Tech House, and some Electro House (which is pretty much every mainstream top 40 remix out there. @_@).
