Hawkgirl series in development

Hawkgirl TV Series Reportedly In Development

I've never had a problem w/ Hawkgirl, but I've only read/watched her as part of a group, never in her own solo series. If they can't come up w/ a successfull new installment of Wonder Woman, should DC be launching other female characters on the small screen in their own series? On the hand, maybe the fact that Hawkgirl is not one of the "big 3" will work in her favor, expectations won't be as high?

I love the character. I do think it will help that she's not Wonder Woman - there are too many preconcieved notions of who WW is, really.

It's all about who does it and whether they take it seriously - if it's done the way Arrow is, then it could be great. If it's done the way it looks like Supergirl is going to be, then it will suck. And of course, depending on the actress. I don't remember Ciara Renee from The Flash, but hopefully she's good enough to carry a series. (I don't know if they've done any filming on the Legends spinoff she's in, but maybe they have and she knocked their socks off and that's why they want to put her in her own series. The same way they expanded Caroline's role in TVD because Candice wowed them so much.)
