GOP State Representative Beats Mentally Disabled Son, Kicks Him In Ribs Outside Restaurant | Addicting Info

---------------

Several witness saw Rep. Nicholas punch his son, push or knock him to the ground and then kick him at least five times. The police found that the son had abrasions and welts on his neck as well as a foot-sized mark on his ribcage with what appeared to be the pattern of shoelaces imprinted on it.

this made me VERY upset! what a BASTARD this man is!

& then, as if people are REALLY THIS STUPID he says:

Bob Nicolas said:
"This is an instance of perception and reality being two very different things"

He added

"Patrons at the restaurant obviously felt that I was being too physical with him and called law enforcement. Not knowing the circumstances, I may have done the same thing.”

He called it "corporal punishment"... as if kicking your child SO HARD that it leaves an OBVIOUS foot print & imprint of shoelaces is acceptable!?

this is ASSAULT & ABUSE. People like him are ALWAYS downplaying their ABUSE of their victims.

My point of sharing this isn't even about him being a republican (although one COULD use that against him consideing how republicans crow about "family values" so much).

I Just think ABUSERS should be called out. I hope he is prosecuted for this! SHAME ON HIM!

Republicans really have been getting the beats lately, huh? It's almost like they're getting exposed for what they really are. Very interesting.

This upsets me because of the probable fact that if he had seen another person doing that to their son, he'd no doubt be all up in their face.

Abuse is abuse. No ands, ifs, or buts about it.

What is THAT supposed to mean?!

Your political party does not make you a good or bad person, an abuser or not an abuser.

I was under the impression that all the latest political scandals and/or negative news stories that have happened, all happened to Republicans [since the party is big on 'traditional' family morals and such]. Of course, being me, I chose to research all this AFTER I opened my big mouth, and it turned out I was wrong. My apologies.

to be fair, most things that I post DO highlight REPUBLICANS. I do it b/c that party TOUTS "moral values" & its representatives (the politicians that are elected) often build their platforms on things like legislation AGAINST LGBT ppl or attacking women's rights etc. & time & again the ones who shout the loudest about being anti gay or anti abortion etc get caught up in the biggest scandals.

That's not to say that democrat politicians don't have their scandals too. they do but my position on THAT is we don't hear the dems crowing about moral values & such so even though they're obviously fallible, will make mistakes & get caught up in scandals, THEY didn't lead you to believe they were the moral compass by which YOU should set yours.

I think even mainstream media is unconsciously aware of this. There's a world of difference between a senator (who happens to be a dem), who NEVER ran a campaign on moral values or religious posturing, getting caught w/ a prostitute (whether he is or isnt married) vs a senator (who happens to be a repub), that harped about moral values & christian principals, being a family man etc, getting caught w/ a prostitute.

the difference is- from one you had no expectation b/c there was no guarantee/promise of.

Great, let's lower our expectations because that makes the behavior okay lol

who said anything about that?

all I'm saying is that @ least w/ OTHER politicians, they don't waste time blowing smoke up ppl's asses about moral values & trying to tell someone how to live their life while being a raging hypocrate. how fucked up is it that a person spends all their time passing legislation against a group of ppl & then gets caught in the bed w/ a person who is the very thing they're attacking & NOW they want sympathy? LOL i dont think so.

ppl almost don't seem to care when a [dem] politician gets caught w/ his pants down b/c THEY aren't the ones who holler about being moral men w/ family values :haha: they don't bust themselves out like republicans do. call it what you want, that's how I see it.

& beyond that, somethings are just REALLY BAD no matter WHO does it & beating your child to the point of leaving an actual foot print is an example of that. his political affiliation doesnt make it worse & it wouldnt be any LESS appalling if it had said "democratic rep beats/kicks child."
