Anyone long for the days when Christmas television was fun?

With the Two Ronnies, Doctor Who, Kenny Everett, and the rest. I really miss those heady days when, as a kid, i could look forward to those shows whilst looking at the Radio Times to see what festive favourites i could enjoy.

Its not the same these days.

of course I had the luck of being able to experience those christmas classics that my mother experienced when SHE was a child. Those Rankin-Bass produced TV specials that featured the "stop motion" animation effects.

Rudolph The Red Nose Reindeer, Santa Claus is Comin' to Town & The First Christmas: The Story of the first christmas snow.

I watched these as a child with my mom, just as she did with her mom years before and they were so magical to me! they made Christmas seem so special back then.

I havent seen those specials in years but I remember them in my mind and how wonderfull it was to watch them as a little girl
