It has been announced that Osama Bin Laden has been killed by our military armed forces, and that they have his body. It's currently 11:15pm EST and the nation awaits President Obama's announcement on the matter, however it has been confirmed that he is dead.

Good riddance. I just hope this doesn't lead to an uproar by terrorist in the Middle East.
 
Expect threat leveks to spike for at least a week.

Especially with Friday being the day of prayer...
 
I really think this means alot to the nation, this is one of those bring us together for a few months moments that we kind of need at the time.

Supposedly whatever happened to him it was "US assets" that did the job so no clue what happened to him but hes a doornail, Symbolically this means the war on terror is over . . .
 
It's a historical moment, and I feel so privileged to be able to say that I saw Obama announce his death live. Even if this does spike threat levels, I think this is a huge closure to this country and those directly effected by the 9/11 attacks.
 
they say they're even going to follow Muslim funeral rites for him so I'm not sure if they're going to release pictures of the body
 
its interesting to note that he died the same month/day that another homicidal terrorist did- Hitler. 66 years apart. Maybe now he joins Hitler in the HELL he sought to condemn us to.

what is annoying me is how these...apologiists seem to be speaking out in fear like bin laden "shouldnt have been killed"...well WTF did you expect? and what should have been done then? as far as I'm concerned, this is a measure of JUSTICE for the victims.

(although I'm not naive enough to believe he was solely responsible for the 9/11 attacks).
 
I didn't know if we would ever get him. I'm glad we did. I think it sends a message about our persistence.
Seal Team Six was the group chosen for the mission. If you don't know, they specialize in counter-terrorism. It's very interesting to read about their history if that sort of thing interests you.
 
I've heard speculation that this is a cover-up for something else.... such as the crazy spike in gas prices (with Exxon reporting the highest profit margin of any company ever last quarter...)

hmph. the "official reason" for 9/11 is a coverup (one that grossly insults the intelligence of anyone who pays attention to detail). thats why i say Bin laden's death is only a SMALL measure of "justice". i'd be more impressed if it was announced that these two wars were now about to END because of this but we know that wont happen.
