who's following it?

From what I've read (both in comic book & reactions online) the Avengers are way outta order. I havent read any of the tie-ins yet either.

I had always felt that PHOENIX would be a great way to address & even reverse what Scarlet Witch had done in House of M/Decimation & while I'm glad that idea seems to be the basis for this battle...I'm not sure I like the way it's going.

Among other things - Iron Man & She-Hulk were flat out wrong for what they did @ the Jean Grey School & Captain America has once again overstepped his bounds. This is going to justify Cyclops' attitude of mistrust & militant behavior & set back mutant/non-mutant relations in the super hero community.

Honestly, I'm hoping that Jean Grey shows up & does something w/ Hope b/c clearly Hope can't control herself, despite being the chosen host for Phoenix. It makes you wonder why doesnt Rachel step in since she's there.

I been glancing at it a little bit (I find its not really all that good imo) but i came to the exact opposite conclusion.

The X-men look collectively like crazy people treating this like a religious event when literally every time they show the phoenix on the way to earth it's destroying another planet. I mean Captain America shows tells them there is a cosmic force of destruction destroying entire planets on the way to earth so they want to move hope off the planet and they all look like they're drinking the kool-aid when they start talking about how they know and they have their messiah probably, hopefully prepared for it. I mean honestly Cyclops should know better since he had to mercy kill his own wife the last time the bird jumped into a unprepared host.

And the best part is the Avengers were probably right to worry since
thanks to Unit (from the S.W.O.R.D. mini series the Phoenix didn't even jump into the right 5 hosts. he manipulated Hope into placing it into Cyclops, Emma Frost, Namor, Colossus and Magik instead of herself. And chances are that's going to backfire spectacularly for the X-men

I have been trying to follow this event as good as i can, (last read was #5)
It seems like something is finally happening, b/c up to now it just seemed ok, but really that exciting.

Im rooting for the X-Men, (Cyclops might have gone a little overboard though)

although one might argue that other cosmic forces (Galactus) destroy planets on a regular basis WHICHEVER direction they're going so what makes Phoenix so different in that regard?

I just don't feel like the Avengers have any ground to stand on considering they have Scarlet Witch, whom they really havent done anything with. They never really helped the X-men in the wake of decimation (unless you count Tony's spineless ass sending Carol, who was once VERY close to the X-men, to the house in the MIDST of all of that to try to recruit them to sign the registration act. yeah THAT was such a big help ) although Captain america seemed to get a clue about that during 2nd Coming when he & the others were on the otherside of Bastion's dome. They realized they hadn't been there for their so called allies nearly like they should be.

NOW its like another aboutface.

My other gripe is that Phoenix will be played out AGAIN in light of all this.
As big a fan I am of Magik, I don't want/need to see her w/ the Phoenix force. It makes no sense. Nor should Colossus or Cyclops have it & White Queen has already shown she can't handle it

When you talk about Phoenix, only a few names should come to mind- Jean, Madelynne, Rachel & now Hope (i guess ).

The Avengers didnt like the X-men getting involved w/ the Scarlet Witch situation (even though they had more right than anyone else considering she was a mutant & who her father was) but they presume to involve themselves in this?

I definitely am NOT a fan of Cyclops & how he does things (now more than ever) but I dont see an validity to what the Avengers are doing either & in the aftermath of this
(especially w/ what happened @ the Jean Grey School or how the avengers TOOK the children from Utopia to Avengers Academy & tried to hold them there)
i think things are gonna be alot more strained between the mutants & non mutant superhero community.
