Actors/Actresses who can actually sing?

[Karma]

I was reading something about Steve Martin & his extensive musical endeavors outside his acting career.

Are there any celebrities (actors, actresses) who have actually made a successfull crossover into music? Even if it's just a "one hit wonder" moment?

Vicki Lawrence (the carol burnett show & mama's family) had a charting hit w/ the night the lights went out in georgia

Of course we know Cher is a singer as well as an actress, even though many have tried to deny her talent for both.

Who else?

Jeff Bridges was just on TV promoting his new album a few weeks ago and Zooey Deschanel has a few songs in the wild and sings the intro to her show "New Girl"

[Clara Oswald]

I saw Hugh Laurie on Graham Norton promoting his bluegrass album. Music was actually his first choice as a career.

Jada Pinkett Smith has a band called Wicked Wisdom. It's a METAL band & has received some very solid, positive reviews on her performances. Sharon Osborne herself said that Jada clearly demonstrates a love & respect for the heavy metal genre of music & saw to it that her band was booked to perform in Ozzfest on several occasions.

I'll admit that I had NO idea about this before but after viewing Jada in action, its clear she has a FLARE for it.

[Rampage]

Jamie Foxx has a beautiful voice and actually did the piano playing in Ray.

this I'm gonna check out, you never hear about when bands are formed only solo pop-dance stuff

oh and Taylor Momsen is in a Band the "Pretty Reckless". They aren't too bad but i only really like one of their songs

^^ Taylor Momsen actually has a really good voice. Very suited for rock. But her overall attitude and look is just unappealing. But I do agree, I love her band's one song "Make Me Wanna Die".

I've never been all into the Disney stars turned singers crap, however Demi Lovato has a fantastic voice. Her songs Skyscraper and For the Love of a Daughter are amazing. She is one Disney star that actually has some pipes and doesn't rely on auto tune *coughMileyCyruscough*

Obviously all the Glee people can sing lol.
